The countdown to Converge is on, with less than one week to go until October 21 - 23! We have a powerhouse line-up of speakers for our inaugural user conference, and can’t wait to hear all that they have to share. Thank you again to the conference sponsors: HP, NVIDIA, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Core Scientific, Intel, PNY and Lenovo. Curious what’s in store at Converge 2019? Here’s a little glimpse of what you can expect.

Let’s Talk Telco

Multiple sessions are dedicated to telecommunications at Converge, and speakers from Verizon and TELUS will take the stage to discuss the future of telecom analytics. On Wednesday, a panel of telecom industry experts will share  how telecom companies can respond to the analytics challenges that come with having massive amounts of data. Later in the afternoon, TELUS will share how they created an interactive market sizing tool to grow subscribers and optimize network builds. Can’t wait for Converge? Read more about how real-time big data analytics can help telecommunications companies maintain healthy network operations and customer service levels across operations.

Deep Dive into Data Science

From discussing how to accelerate data science workflows with optimized AI infrastructure, to taking a deep dive into RAPIDS, NVIDIA’s Converge sessions promise to dig into data science. At 12pm on Tuesday, Matt Hull, VP, Global DGX & AI Data Center Solution Sales, NVIDIA will discuss why organizations should empower data science teams with tools and infrastructure that are purpose-built for the unique demands of AI and data science. Later in the day, Josh Patterson, Director of Engineering, NVIDIA, will explore the latest RAPIDS engineering work and new release features, including benchmarks, roadmaps, and demos. Hear from Jared Dame, Director of AI & Data Science at HP, about the future of data science and the convergence of edge and cloud compute working seamlessly together to deliver on our information needs.

Inspiring Keynote Presentations

As Todd Mostak previously mentioned, some of the brightest minds in the data science industry will take the stage at Converge, including Wes McKinney and Travis Oliphant. Wes and Travis have played a formative role in the creation of the modern data science stack, between them either founding or significantly contributing to the NumPy, SciPy, conda, pandas, Parquet, and Arrow projects. At Converge, we’ll have a chance to hear first-hand their inspiring visions for the future of the ecosystem and thoughts around the growing importance of hardware acceleration in data science workflows.
